Galileo delivered
the fatal stroke:
Once dislodge us
from the center
of the warm gaze
of our Sun-God
we must tremble
at the dizzy edge,
the fuzzy stellar scatter.
This flurried bloodflap
and raucous motion
is the twitch-nerve
pantomime
the movements of a headless hen
that doesn't yet know
it's what's
for dinner.
